Physics 204A homepage

Welcome to the homepage for Dr. Ayars' sections of Physics 204A.

The links at the left will take you to homework sets, homework keys, exams from previous semesters, and various other useful places. The Syllabus is over there, also. Homework is usually due on Mondays, so you'll want to get started on that right away. Late homework is subject to the policy explained in the syllabus: for a concise summary of that policy click here.

Exam 2

Exam 2 will be on Friday, 3/9/18. It will consist of 8 questions, of which I will grade 7. (Please mark the one you don't want me to grade!)

Textbook

The textbook this semester is Physics, a Strategic Approach, 4th edition, by Randy Knight. You can buy or rent it at the bookstore, or more cheaply at Amazon.com.

Important information!

A friend of mine from grad school now writes for Wired.com (as well as teaching physics at Southeastern Louisiana University) and he wrote this recently: Learning physics is tough. Get used to it. That sounds kind of harsh, but what he says there is important and you'd do well to grok it. There's some good news, though: getting you through physics 204A is my main job for the semester. So if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. My phone, email, and schedule are under "contact" on the left. Don't worry about "interrupting what I do." I am a physics teacher. This is what I do. If you have questions, ASK!
