Raman-shifted Eye-safe Aerosol Lidar (REAL)

at California State University, Chico
The REAL, developed at National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) between 2001 and 2007 with funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), is presently maintained and operated at the California State University, Chico. Initial funding to set up the REAL at Chico State comes from NCAR, ITT Corporation, and CSU Chico's Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (RESP). The CSU-Chico College of Agriculture and University Farm host the lidar. Dr. Shane Mayor manages the project with help from the Department of Physics. A recent grant from the National Science Foundation provides funding for analysis of REAL data collected during CHATS.
